We have been hard at work on the new greenhouse which we will be using to grow healthy and sustainable produce for our school districts and restaurants. This week the roof framing was completed and we began installing the roof cover material. We are using an ultra high durability plastic sheeting material which should be strong enough to withstand most of the hail storms we expect to experience. We will let you know how that works out for us!
Enclosing the greenhouse is necessary in order to trap the heat energy from the sun inside the greenhouse and thus extending our growing season to every month of the year. This will really help us with school’s incredible demand for fresh produce in the winter months here in Dallas/Ft. Worth. We are installing special motorized vents in order to allow excess heat to be vented automatically during the warm months. We will show those when we get ready to install them.
