WHAT IS COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE?
Community Supported Agriculture is very different from going to the local grocery store to buy your vegetables. It is a direct relationship between you the consumer and us on our farm. CSA members pay in advance for some of the upcoming harvest. This ensures they receive high quality local produce, while also providing the farm with a consistent market. Produce is harvested directly from our fertile fields and green houses.
WHAT IS A CSA SHARE BOX?
CSA is a popular way for consumers to buy local and seasonal goods to get the freshest and healthiest foods for your family as well as support local farmers.
WHAT DOES A CSA SUBSCRIPTION INCLUDE?
A CSA Share Subscription includes regular delivery of fresh, flavor filled vegetables, fruits, and herbs that are in season harvested from our fields. You also have the option to add our Angus Beef, All Natural Chicken, Eggs, Honey, Nuts and more to your purchase!
IS YOUR FARM ORGANIC?
We employ all-natural growing practices. Our farm is free of pesticides, fungicides, and GMO crops, adhering to the standards of organic farming.

HOW LONG IS YOUR SEASON?
We grow vegetables year-round and deliver CSA shares weekly. The only days we do not deliver are Sundays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
DO YOU REUSE YOUR CSA BOXES?
No. In order to help us remain environmentally friendly, we ask that you recycle your CSA Boxes after use please.
DO YOU REUSE EGG CARTONS?
Yes. We do reuse our egg cartons.
HOW DO I PROPERLY STORE THE VEGETABLES IN MY SHARE?
We recommend keeping all of your products in the refrigerator with the exception of potatoes and onions. Walnut Creek Farm aims to grow the highest quality of produce we possibly can. Almost all of our vegetables except some storage crops are harvested the day before delivery, definitely with in the same week.
CAN I BRING MY FAMILY OUT TO THE FARM TO VISIT OR VOLUNTEER?
In response to COVID-19 currently, Walnut Creek Farm does not have any opportunities for volunteer work in order to help keep you and our staff safe and healthy. However, we may have Farm Tours in order to let customers and community members see our process available from April to July. Once they are available due to high demand, it is very important to RSVP at least 48 hours before you would like to visit the farm and it’s best to contact us about a week in advance just to make sure. Please ensure you receive confirmation prior to visiting our actual Farm. Additionally, remember all customers are welcome to visit our Retail Store location.
WHATS IN THE BOX?
We grow a large number of different types of vegetables and herbs, on a regular schedule, CSA Members will receive a “share” box. Inside each box is a variety selection of seasonal fresh produce direct from local farms and producers depending on availability. These can include vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, peppers, as well as fruit such as apples, citrus fruit, pears, strawberries and much more! We ensure that each box contains an even useful mix for you and your family! All produce in our CSA Shares come from Walnut Creek Farm and partner farms directly. We select each and every vegetable variety we grow based on flavor, fruit abundance and adaptability.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IS COMING IN MY BOX?
A wide selection of what’s in season at the time will be available in each box, what specifically is in each individual one will vary depending on quality of items available, potential shortages, or any of the other numerous factors that can impact a farm’s harvest.
CAN I CHOOSE WHAT’S IN MY BOX EACH WEEK?
No, you cannot choose the vegetables in a standard box, but we do offer a fully customizable box that allows you to customize every vegetable that goes in it. The box contents vary depending on what is freshest and most available in the fields or at partner farms, CSA members often get the newest crops before they are sent to market or delivered to restaurants. Walnut Creek Farm puts a great deal of care and attention into each week’s box to ensure you receive a healthy variety every week.
Payment, Subscription, and Refund
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost of your CSA share is dependent on the size of your order. Walnut Creek Farm offers two different sizes of CSA Box, Medium (15 lbs.) for $35, and Large (30 lbs.) for $55. We also have our Custom CSA Boxes which are an additional $10 each.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
In the CSA model, you (consumers) are seen as active farm partners, sharing the risks and rewards of the harvest. Should you choose to cancel your subscription, we cannot offer a refund for shares already paid for. However, Walnut Creek Farm does NOT require a membership in order to subscribe to our CSA Boxes, so you are able to cancel at any point with out needing to worry about repercussion as long as you have not already actually purchased the items. Please contact us for any further questions or concerns regarding this policy.
HOW DO I PAY?
Visiting either our online shop page or our CSA Page should allow you to purchase either the Medium or Large box in a secure online fashion via Credit or Debit Card. Before each upcoming CSA Box is sent out you will be reminded and given the opportunity to cancel or pay.
HOW CAN I CANCEL?
Since there is no membership you can cancel whenever you would like. Must be done via email.
Pickup and Delivery
WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY BOX?
Currently we offer pickup at our Alvarado farm store location, the Burleson Farmers Market, or have it delivered directly to your home with a $100 order minimum. More locations will be added as we grow the program.
DO YOU OFFER HOME DELIVERY IN MY AREA?
We offer FREE home delivery to most DFW Area zip codes, please enter your zip code at checkout to view delivery options for your area.
WHERE ARE THE OFFICE AND COMMUNITY PICKUP SITES?
If you are interested in hosting a new pickup site we need at least 6 to 8 customers per week minimum to consider adding a new pickup location. Please contact us if you would like to begin hosting a new pick-up site at your office, business, or neighborhood. An office pickup site is a great addition to any employee wellness program!
CAN THE CSA BOXES BE DELIVERED TO MY AREA?
Any new delivery locations can be added but we require a minimum of 6 to 8 customers to sign up for the new location. Invite your friends and family!
CAN THE CSA BOXES BE DELIVERED TO MY OFFICE?
Of course! We require 6 to 8 customers to sign up for a new location. Contact us for a handy CSA sheet you can share with your coworkers!
HOW DO I CHANGE MY PICKUP LOCATION?
If you would like to change the pickup location for the deliveries shown please call or email the farm.
HOW DO I CHOOSE CUSTOM PICKUP DATES?
You may call or email our office and have your pickup dates and locations scheduled to preference.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANNOT PICK UP MY BOX?
If you contact our office at least 48 hours prior to your delivery day, we can arrange for a pick-up at an alternate community pick up site during the same week. Alternatively, you can call our office to donate your share or you can ask to have your order canceled for the individual week.
LATE OR MISSED PICK-UP POLICY
Since produce is perishable, we ask the CSA site host to donate any vegetable boxes left after the pickup time window closes. Unfortunately, we do not give replacement boxes if you are late or miss a pickup. You can change your schedule by emailing or calling us before the end of business day Friday the week before your delivery day.
HOW DO I CHANGE MY DELIVERY FREQUENCY?
If you would like to adjust your delivery frequency, please call our office at (817) 783 3588 or email us at email@example.com. Current plans include: Weekly, Bi-Weekly (Every other week), and Monthly.
Allergies, Substitutions and Additions
WHAT IF I AM ALLERGIC TO CERTAIN VEGETABLES?
We are happy to accommodate boxes for food allergies. If you need to avoid certain vegetables due to allergies, please contacts us via email or put it in the notes section.
WHAT IF I CAN’T EAT CERTAIN VEGETABLES?
Customers who can’t eat certain vegetables should make sure to list what vegetables they cannot eat in the notes section of the order form, for EACH order. Items will be substituted with other vegetables that are available, if you would like to request specific substitutions you can include the item(s) you would like instead in the notes section as well. For more details on what is currently available as a substitute and for more information on customization or allergies please call or email the farm.
CAN I REPLACE UNWANTED SELECTIONS?
CSA selections are made by us based on seasonal availability. We do our best to accommodate allergens by request, however we cannot fully customize every box. If you wish to receive a customized box to try, order one of our Custom CSA Farm Boxes!
CAN I ADD OTHER ITEMS?
Yes! All of our beef, chicken and pork as well as shelved goods and more can be added at a per item cost.
